The Entries are In

by

As the submission deadline has passed, we’ve been taking a look at the entries. You should too. They’re really great. In total, we edged out our first Apps for America by just a few entries, ending up with 47 entries.

I was sad to disqualify two great apps because they didn’t match up with our license requirements (they weren’t open source): AnalyzeThe.us and the ESRI Data.gov shapefile viewer. Both apps are really useful and great contributions. I encourage you to check them out. Check out, for instance, what AnalyzeThe.us did with Baucus Lobbying data. It is great stuff, and a great contribution. It just doesn’t qualify.

Now we’re kicking off judging. And we’ll be judging for the next two weeks. Once all the judges have completed their judging, we’ll announce the finalists for all to vote on.
