Apply to be a TransparencyCamp 2013 Scholar

by

Transparency Camp, or as we like to call it, TCamp, is an unconference event that brings together many different communities that have an interest in government transparency. To make sure that as many communities are represented as possible, the Sunlight Foundation will once again hold a travel scholarship open to participants across the country.

APPLY NOW!

We are looking for civic innovators -- people with ideas or projects that apply transparency locally, nationally, or internationally. Whether your opengov advocacy or tinkering is part of your day job or falls outside of your 9-to-5, we believe you have something important to share, learn, and build along with every other attendee at TransparencyCamp -- even if you don’t have the means to make it all the way out to Washington, DC on your own. That’s why, for the last two years, we’ve provided this scholarship and partial travel stipend, and why we’re bringing it back for TransparencyCamp 2013.

People that have experience working on municipal or state transparency issues and civic hackers of all stripes are highly encouraged to apply.

This year’s TCamp will be co-hosted by Sunlight Foundation and the George Washington University School of Media and Public Affairs at the George Washington University, May 4th - 5th.

Another way to save money on TCamp is to purchase your ticket on Eventbrite by March 1st: From now until then, tickets are just $20 for general admission and $10 for students.

Because it is an unconference, TCamp depends on the participation of attendees to create most of the the sessions, workshops, and conversations. Attendees drive the programming and the schedule for the conference. As you plan your TCamp adventure, consider stepping up and leading session. We’ll have more info on how to do so in the coming weeks.

Learn more about TCamp at the website. Apply for the the domestic scholarship here. Applications close Monday, March 25th, 2013.

Hope to see you at TCamp!
