    • Suggested conversation script:

Hi. My name is [YOUR NAME] and I'm a constituent.

I'm calling to ask if Senator [SENATOR’S NAME] electronically filed her campaign contribution reports this past quarter. [Note: The end of quarter was June 30th.]

    • If supports:

That’s great. I appreciate that Senator [NAME] is taking a stand for efficiency in government. Electronic filing is the first step toward ensuring we have greater transparency online. I encourage the Senator to continue to e-file every quarter -- and since this an issue that's important to me, I will be following up.

    • If opposes:

That’s a shame! Does Senator [NAME] realize that by filing on paper they’re keeping their constituents in the dark about where they get their donations from?

Paying contractors to scan in paper disclosure filings that have already been completed is a waste of resources. Around $250, 000 of tax payer money a year are wasted on this redundant process!

If Senator [NAME] didn’t e-file this quarter, I want her to commit to e-filing next quarter -- and I will be following up.

    • Otherwise:

[If person says anything about NEEDING TO TALK WITH CAMPAIGN staff]

Please let Senator [NAME] know that e-filing campaign information is incredibly important. If Senator [NAME] didn’t e-file this quarter, I want her to commit to e-filing next quarter. E-filing saves time and a good deal of tax payer money -- and since this is an issue that’s important to me, I will be following up.
