Alison Rowland is a Software Developer and Data Scientist at the Sunlight Foundation. As part of the DataCommons project, she spends her days using Python and SQL in support of our campaign finance and lobbying database. Previously, she worked in business intelligence for the entertainment industry, helping to process and report on nationwide TV viewing data. Alison has a B.A. in Linguistics and a minor in Music Theory from Stony Brook University. In her downtime, she enjoys playing with her toddler daughter, music, reading about neuroscience, urban planning, and politics, good cooking, yoga and hiking.
