Tonight at 8 p.m. EDT, Sunlight Live will kick off a busy return week for Washington by covering the Republican debate with non-partisan insights on the campaign contributions and lobbying connections as the candidates speak. The event at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation Library in California will include Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who recently joined the race in August. The eight Republican candidates are locked in a fundraising battle with at least one Super PAC to each of their names.
Sunlight Live combines streaming video, government transparency data and social media coverage, to provide insight to the proposals, people and policies mentioned during major political events. Leading the Sunlight Live coverage will be investigative journalists from the Sunlight Reporting Group and John E. Moss Fellows. We invite all members of the press and public to join our live video stream and blog at http://SunlightLive.com.
On Thursday at 10:30 a.m., Sunlight’s award-winning team will return to report on the Super Committee’s first public meeting live featuring expert analysis, real-time fact checking and data on the influence of campaign contributions and lobbying efforts. Later that day, the Sunlight Reporting Group will cover President Obama's jobs speech to a joint session of Congress at 7 p.m. The President will present his jobs plan and address the debate about the path forward on the economy.
All of the Sunlight Live widgets - the video feed, the live blog, the infographics - are available to media and bloggers for embedding. Please contact us for the technical specifications.
