'Congress' is a free pocket directory that allows you to quickly get detailed information on your members of Congress, and what they're up to. Follow the latest bills and laws, and see floor activity and votes as they happen.
From the palm of their hands, concerned citizens can better engage with their government, and Capitol Hill regulars can finally ditch those hefty yellow books.
The application is built on the Sunlight Congress API, Real Time Congress API, with help from GovTrack.us. Like all Sunlight projects, 'Congress' is open source software, and we encourage developers to play with and reuse the code on Github. For iPhone users, check out the Sunlight Foundation’s Real Time Congress application that allows users to access government documents and activity as they go live.
Computerworld named 'Congress' one of the '10 free Android apps for staying in the know'. The app has also been previously featured on the Android Market at large, and T-Mobile's Market channel.

"With this kind of information in our hands, mobile applications like Congress could signal the beginning of a new era of citizen interest and participation in government, too. I hope so. Thanks, Sunlight Labs, for producing this." - Richard Posey
