Faraz Ahmed

Open Cities Fellow

Faraz Ahmed is an Open Cities Fellow. At Sunlight, he is using data journalism to tell investigative stories about how cities in the U.S. and around the world are using open data to create civic change.

Faraz brings experience in the development sector, in both private and public organizations. He has been associated with social enterprises in Pakistan such as EcoEnergyFinance and with private corporations including Shell. Moreover, his data-driven initiatives have helped the Lahore Police Department predict and prevent the occurrence of a crime through policing technology and have assisted the Rescue 1122 service decrease its ambulances’ response times in order to save the lives of more patients.

He graduated from Lahore University of Management Sciences with a BSc in Management Science. He is currently a graduate student in the Computational Analysis and Public Policy program at the University of Chicago.
