  • Schocking Allegations: Two congressional watchdog groups filed a complaint with the FEC arguing that Rep. Aaron Schock (R-IL) violated federal rules by soliciting a donation from Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s PAC to steer towards a primary race. (Politico)
  • Register and Regulations learn to share: The online Federal Register is becoming more tightly integrated with Regulations.gov. As of Monday public comments on rules that appear on Regulations.gov will also be accessible on the Federal Register’s website. (Government Executive)

Lobbying

  • Lugar lagging, looking towards K street? Sen Dick Lugar (R-IN) may be heading for a loss in his upcoming primary against current Indiana State Treasurer Richard Mourdock. If that happens, he is likely to attract interest from a variety of lobbying power players. (The Hill)
  • Hands off approach for Planned Parenthood during controversy: Planned Parenthood sharply curtailed its lobbying expenditures during the first quarter of 2012 as it became embroiled in a controversy over funding from the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. (The Hill)
  • Hodes heads home: Former Rep. Paul Hodes (D-NH) is rejoining Shaheen & Gordon, the firm that he first joined in 1996. (The Hill)

State and Local

  • Open the Port Authority: Under a new freedom of information code the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey released 22,000 pages of documents online, including every response to a FOIA request it received in 2011. (Tech President)
  • A paper diet for North Carolina? The North Carolina Legislature is trying to increase its use of technology and cut back on its paper consumption. A new pilot program will encourage lawmakers to e-file their bills and make it easier to track legislation online. (Yahoo/AP)
