William Jefferson’s (D-LA) former aide Brett Pfeffer was sentenced today to eight years in prison for his role in the ongoing bribery investigation of the Louisiana congressman. It’s pretty clear that Paul Kiel’s observation here is absolutely going to be true: “it seems likely that he could shatter the record set for the longest sentence for a Member of Congress: 8 years, 4 months, set by Duke Cunningham.”
