ReadWriteWeb reported last week that USA.gov, the official online portal to the federal government, has built a central repository of RSS feeds with the latest breaking news from federal agencies. The USA.gov-hosted RSS feeds provide updates on such topics as recent product recalls to press releases about foreign policy issues.

The Federal Web Managers Council, an inter-agency group of about 40 web managers from every cabinet-level agency and many independent agencies, works to make U.S. government websites the citizen-focused and visitor-friendly is responsible for helping to shepherd this step at USA.gov.
