  • Uh Rick,

DeLay was admonished by the ethics committee three times when in office. He then tried to neuter the committee by purging its members.

DeLay resigned from Congress after he was indicted on the crimes that he was just convicted of committing.

If you’re talking about Charlie Rangel he hasn’t been indicted for any crime and while his violations of ethics rules are manifold and abhorrent there is no implication of a crime committed.

You can’t say that about DeLay. So, I don’t know what your point is aside from crass partisanship.

If he was a Democrat he would have gotten to keep his job in the House and at the most received Censure. Simply a case of belonging to the wrong Party.

  • Name: Charlie

To these right wing MOFOs who creamed their pants for weeks over Jame’s O’Keefe’s hacked-Acorn video, Can we expect the same amount of coverage from you and Fox News over Tom Delay’s conviction? Or was it unfair and unjust that he get convicted by a jury of his peers because his goal of electing Republicans was so noble

  • The minimum sentence here is around 7 years in prison.

  • He has been a known crook for years, the only ridiculous aspect of the case is how long it took to try him and convict him. Now, he will get a slap on the hand and let go like most of our crooked politicians.
