The Week on Politwoops: An Early Christmas in Alabama, Thanksgiving Crab and a Clumsy Ninja
Here is this week’s review of tweets deleted by U.S. politicians caught and archived by Politwoops.
Bradley Byrne, a Republican candidate in Alabama’s first congressional district, had a hard time containing his excitement for Christmas and shared the photo to the right on December 3rd with his followers, only to delete it 7 hours later.
Rep. Jerry McNerney, D-Calif., or a member of his staff, deleted a tweet about a change up for Thanksgiving with a recipe for Crab Shumai from a blog called “One If By Food: Cooking Made Simple For One.” The tasty-looking deletion came after 6 days of being public on his official House account.
Rep. Pete King, R-N.Y., deleted a tweet about “Having fun with CLUMSY NINJA for iPad!” His ironic slip-up is now unmasked and archived by Politwoops. He joins the ranks of the unofficial caucus of mobile game aficionados including Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and the four year old son of Rep. Martha Roby, R-Ala, also exposed by Politwoops.
Some recent additions to the Politwoops system include the official account for Senator Cory Booker, D-N.J., and Russ Fulcher, a Republican state senator running for Governor in Idaho.
