Sunlight on Freeing Federal Data

The federal government gathers a massive amount of data and the Sunlight Foundation believes that the government’s policies should drive more transparency and public accountability. Agencies should proactively disclose what descriptions of all of their information, to enable the public to know what information agencies have, and to create better management for all the government’s data. A comprehensive collection of datasets and information systems will be an important step in enabling transparency decisions to be made in the public interest.
